Biography

Marc Scratch was born in 1984 in a Bavarian town called Lichtenfels, Germany. He is the second of two children.

Music got to Marc at a young age, he would listened to a variety of music genres, watch music videos on television, and soon found himself to be influenced by the music the world had to offer.

For him music had a bigger meaning in his life than it did in other children's at his age. At the age of 10 Marc started writing and composing his own songs and by the age of 13 had already recorded his first CD album. He sold his first CD in school, gained respect and received positive feedback from classmates, friends and teachers. Although he lacked the technical equipment Marc improvised and continued making music.

He competed in and won several talent contests where he also met a lot of interesting people, one being Jason. Jason was from South Africa and the first person to believe in Marc's talent, he encouraged Marc to step onto the stage allowing him to gain a better sense of respect and self confidence. Jason himself was a very talented RnB singer and song writer who Marc worked well together with. The songs they produced were very popular in their hometown. Unfortunately Jason had to move back to South Africa, this parting their music career. Jason will always be a big inspiration for Marc.

In 2000 Marc came across Son-D-Lyte, a well known DJ and producer in Cologne who had performed an opening act with Lisha for Busta Rhymes and Beyoncé. He later worked with Scola from Dru Hill, Horace Brown, Ahmir, TQ and Kaye Styles. Marc appeared to have met his soul mate, it seemed to him as if he and Son were surfing the same sound wave. They wrote similar lyrics and shared the same ideas, this leading to a meeting in Cologne where they recorded two rap albums within a few days as well as performing together in clubs, and taking part in rap battles. Marc had never met a hardworking character like Son-D-Lyte before and will always be seen as a vibrant role model.

Marc enjoyed going to karaoke bars, where he had the chance to meet different singers.

One evening he spotted a beautiful and talented RnB-songstress from Bamberg, Germany called Sharina. Marc Scratch had finally found what he had searched for. After Sharina's karaoke performance he approached her and asked if she was interested in recording music with him. Sharina agreed without hesitation. From that day forth Marc and Sharina had recorded continuously. She was able to bring a new atmosphere into Marc's music with her harmony, passion and emotion. Even those who had a different taste of music showed an interest. Their audience was continuously fascinated and impressed by the variety of music genres they were able to combine. This is best seen in their well known song "Without Your Love" where Sharina performs, adding that little extra to it. Marc and Sharina have plans to continue recording when the time is best suited.

Marc's mother suffered a stroke in 2008 leaving her unable to walk or talk. This incident was very hard for Marc and his family to deal with. No one at work was able to imagine what he and his family were going through. All this pressure was the cause which led Marc into depression.

Marc's will to pursue his dream career set through. He fought his way out of depression and is now bigger and stronger than before.

End of August 2012 Marc released his first official album, called "Another Me" including songs with artists like 2Pac's Outlawz (Young Noble, EDI Don, Fatal), Bizzy Bone of the legendary group Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Coolio (from the big smash hit "Gangsta's Paradise" of the 90's), Tha Realest, Kasinova Tha Don, Mr. G Reality and many more.
